Legal Director and Specialist Employment Lawyer
Having grown up in Birmingham and studied Law and Spanish at Cardiff University, Rathika found herself moving further south to Taunton for her training with leading regional law firm Ashfords LLP.
She qualified as an employment solicitor in 2006, becoming an Associate in 2011. However, with 8 years’ experience under her belt, she had a clear vision to make high quality legal and HR advice accessible and affordable. She, therefore, decided to set up her own employment law firm, which has been fully authorised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
Rathika has expertise in all aspects of contentious and non-contentious work, offering advice to both organisations and individuals. She has particular expertise in advising on restructures and redundancies, the removal of senior executives, the enforcement of restrictive covenants, the complex legislation affecting employment agencies and businesses and charities working with volunteers.
She has acted for clients ranging from individual employees, executives and consultants to charitable organisations, small-medium sized businesses and publicly listed companies. Although she works from her offices in Taunton, Somerset, Rathika has a wide client base from across the UK. The key to her success is the close working relationships she forms with all of her clients.
When not working in the office, Rathika is unlikely to be found indoors at home. She loves spending time with family and friends and living in the south west is perfect for enjoying the outdoors. However, Rathika also enjoys the vibrancy of city life, going to concerts and the theatre. She is passionate about music and plays in a local jazz band. She volunteers as a School Pastor at a local secondary school and is a founding Trustee of CHARIS (Christian Help & Action for Refugees in Somerset), a charity set up under the government’s community sponsorship programme for the resettlement of refugees.
